about rachel cho

Rachel Cho was born in Korea and moved to New York with her family at the age of six. Her mother, Sharon, is a self-taught florist who has run a well-regarded and successful flower business, Sharon's Flowers, for the past 20 years. Rachel grew up at her mom's shop, where her love and appreciation for flowers, colors, and textures blossomed. Still, she never intended to become a floral designer.

Rachel graduated from Smith College with a degree in biology and planned to attend Medical School, but after working in a variety of creative jobs after college, including as a reporter for the FIFA World Cup in Korea, she decided to pursue a more artistic field. Her natural affinity towards aesthetics and design led her to a career in fashion, but she soon returned to where her creative skills began--her mother's flower shop. While helping to cultivate and grow the family business, Rachel honed her craft by freelancing with renowned floral designers like Michael George. She quickly built a reputation and portfolio of her own, receiving rave reviews and word of mouth referrals doing custom flowers for friends' weddings and small-scale events.

Rachel’s design sensibility ranges from the classic to the ultra modern; from the simple to the extravagant. She's adept at honing in on her clients' unique style and needs, suggesting ideas, colors, and arrangements that they’ll be both comfortable with and excited about, and then flawlessly executing this vision on the day of the event. Rachel’s inspired by a love of art, nature and beauty, although her greatest inspiration is her mother, whose exceptional talent, generous spirit, and perseverance has taught her not only about the flower business, but about life.
